For heat transfer vinyl heat loosens the backing making the vinyl pieces so much easier to remove. What makes vinyl even more easy to weed is what siser calls the heat press trick. This makes it so you can weed away the excess without losing the proper alignment of the vinyl. After the design is cut it is time to weed the vinyl.

The easiest way to weed vinyl 4 different methods using cricut tools. Those vinyls are gorgeous but it is impossible to see the cut lines. Lay it on the weeding area with the sticky side up and use spring clamps to hold the vinyl down. Heat up your lower heat press platen for 2 3 seconds set at around 300 f.

Lay a corner of the vinyl gently on your receiving surface and smooth the design into position. They then pull up the box around the image and continue to weed from there.

Use a piece of adhesive vinyl for scraps i will often take a piece of adhesive vinyl or double sided tape and place it sticky side up on or next to my cricut mat.
